I am a theatre artist and educator. For many years, I was a one-person theatre department and so became a true theatre generalist. From selling the tickets, marketing the program, directing, designing and building the show and from planning the season to sweeping the floor, I've done it all. My greatest strengths are as a teacher and a director but I am also a quality scenic and lighting designer and technical director. I have directed over 50 productions and designed sets and lights for well over 40 shows. However, it is the quality of the productions I prize rather than the quantity. My design and directing credits feature a wide-ranging repertoire from classical (Much Ado About Nothing, Comedy of Errors, Tartuffe ) to contemporary (Proof, Curse of the Starving Class, Dancing at Lughnasa), comic (Moon Over Buffalo, The Importance of Being Earnest, Rumors) to serious(Eleemosynary, The Investigation, The Runner Stumbles) straight plays (Arms and the Man, The Playboy of the Western World, Lost in Yonkers) to musicals (Kiss Me Kate, The Mikado, The Fantasticks).

I am an Ann Arbor native and the founding Artistic Director of the Brooklyn-based theater company Polybe + Seats. Polybe + Seats produces new plays and collaboratively-developed work that experiments with images, language, structure, and storytelling. We have been making theater together since 2001. By engaging with multiple perspectives we invite our audiences to make their own connections with our work. The non-theatrical spaces in which we have produced our work have provided visual and dramaturgical inspiration; venues include a barge, a kitchenware store, a church and several galleries. We are proud members of the Alliance of Resident Theaters / New York and are a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a national arts service organization. Our work has been funded by The Brooklyn Arts Council, The Mental Insight Foundation, The Nancy Quinn Fund, The Jerome Foundation, The Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation, and the National Foundation for Jewish Culture. Our work has been presented by The University of Michigan, Mabou Mines / Suite, Brooklyn Fire Proof, and the Waterfront Museum and Showboat Barge.

I am currently touring in 'Bernhardt on Broadway,' a one-woman musical about Sarah Bernhardt that I researched, wrote, composed, and perform. One hundred years ago Sarah Bernhardt was the most famous woman in the world. She is often referred to as the most famous actress of all time. This is a production that is not only entertaining but authentic. It transports the audience back to the Belle Epoque through the eyes of Sarah Bernhardt. Please go to: www.BernhardtOnBroadway.com to see video and testimonials.
