    The Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living is a community enrichment, learning, and advocacy center for people with disabilities in our community. We offer a variety of arts opportunities throughout the year including: month-long art workshops (past topics have included poetry, photography, and scrapbooking), an open art studio once a week, and a performing arts group.

    The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, the Original is a non-profit 501(c)3 arts organization dedicated to increasing public knowledge and appreciation for contemporary fine arts and fine crafts by creating opportunities that connect artists, the Ann Arbor community and the general public to their mutual benefit, culminating in a top quality juried art fair. Begun in 1960, the award-winning Street Art Fair is the original of the now four art fairs that take place each July.

    The Arbor Art Festival is designed to increase public knowledge and appreciation for fine arts and fine crafts in Michigan. The festival will be hosted by and take place at Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan. The University has a strong art program and an art gallery on its main campus. The University is known for a large Christmas event, Hanging of the Greens, with over 2,000 people attending. The Arbor Art Festival will be the University’s signature Spring event and will feature artists from all over Michigan and beyond.

    Our mission is to foster and encourage the expression of the visual arts. The Brighton Art Guild began in 1999 when a small group of artists and art lovers met at the Brighton District Library to discuss the formation of a visual arts organization for the Brighton area. The goal was to benefit the artists and the community. The Guild 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with over 100 members. Our members are artists and art lovers who volunteer to manage the Guild's programs, create and maintain the Guild Web site; publish a monthly newsletter available on the Web site; and have contributed to a variety of community programs and organizations.

  • Gifts of Art, U-M Health System
    Ann Arbor Area

    Gifts of Art brings the world of music and art to the University of Michigan Health System’s patients, visitors, staff and community. We offer a number of different programs, including nine changing exhibit galleries, weekly performances, an artist in residence program that brings art making activities to the bedsides of patients, Bedside Music, and a symphony orchestra for members of the U-M life sciences community (Life Sciences Orchestra), which performs two free concerts a year at Hill Auditorium. We also have the Friends Meditation Garden and an Art Cart, which brings colorful framed prints to patients at their bedsides so they can choose art for their rooms.     Glass Shack Studio is located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. We are an art glass studio and offer a variety of mosaic classes and workshops that include stained glass mosaics, mosaics with Italian smalti, and Dalle de Verre mosaics. All ages welcomed. As well, we operate an in-studio stained glass and supply shop for mosaic and stained glass artists. We sell sheets of glass by Youghiogheny, Uroboros, Bullseye, Wissmach, Spectrum, and others.     Taylor and Charlene Jacobsen, are retired art teachers from the Saline Area Schools. They remain active artists, in their own right, and teach art classes at their studios and for Saline Community Education. The Jacobsen's host other art events and gatherings at their property outside of Saline, Michigan. The also host classes taught by other experienced artists/ teachers in a wide variety of media and art techniques and from many different regions. They welcome questions and visits to their studios.

    The mission of Two Twelve Arts Center is to provide a creative hub offering visual and performing artists the opportunity and working space to come together to work, create, and teach. The Center also contributes to the cultural life of the residents of Saline by supporting a full schedule of classes, programs, performances and exhibits. We look forward to providing a framework for a vibrant and supportive arts community with varied opportunities for artists, students and audiences. The Center provides an environment conducive to the creative process. Exhibits and shows will be held periodically throughout the year to highlight local artists work. The public is encouraged to view and purchase the art work. Artists and students are always welcome to gather for conversation in the first floor meeting room.
