    Photography - Landscape and Wildlife Hi I’m Michael Colter, award winning Landscape and Wildlife Photographer living in the Milan area. Working as a Firefighter for 34 years Website - colterphoto.com My passion is photography and I truly enjoy capturing the things that memories are made of, from a chickadee grabbing a sunflower seed to an eagle diving through the air to the river below and catching a fish. Capturing the beauty of the sun rising on the Atlantic to the sun setting in the Pacific and all of the things that we see between. With the warmth of the spring sun that brings life to the trees, flowers and the new life that will walk this Great Earth. Then comes the gentle summer stream and fireflies at night, to the blaze of the autumn tree that are preparing to hibernate through the cold winters nights. These are the thing I love to capture with my camera. One of the things I want to photograph is the Northwest United States, a place that my 4th Great Grandfather John Colter discovered with Lewis and Clark in the Corps of Discovery. After leaving the Corps of Discovery he went on to discover the Yellow Stone area. Some say he was the original Mountain Man. Thanks for looking, Mike

    Originally from rural Arkansas, Sandra aquired an early appreciation of nature and the sensations of color and light. A traditional oil artist and avid plein air painter her art is a reflection of her experiences. Her passion is to see and appreciate the beauty in ordinary occurrences and to create paintings that are sensitive to the spirit of each subject. In her plein air pieces she strives to find balance and harmony in the ever-changng landscape. "I want the viewer to take with them a sense of my world." The surface of her work is a varying impasto of oil color applied over a toned canvas. An award winning artist, Sandra's work has appeared in numerous juried and solo exhibits, museum shows, and galleries in Michigan and Ohio. She is currently a member of the Saline Painters, Plein Air Chairman of the Ann Arbor Women Artists, and Secretary of the Great Lakes Plein Air Painters Association.

    I paint "Dreamscapes". My landscape paintings reflect both the inner and outer world. Through my compositions I represent how the reality we experience is both observed and created by us. My goal is for the viewer of my artwork to be able to "escape" into the painting and hopefully be inspired by it. I paint with oils on masonite. I enjoy the smooth surface of wood for rendering fine details. I also create digital images using Photoshop and Bryce. Often I will first create the image digitally and then reproduce it with oil paints. The subjects in my paintings are rendered in a realistic manner but with an overall surrealistic mood. My compositions are non-figurative. I want the viewer of my artwork to experience it first hand as if they were in the scene themselves experiencing it firsthand.
