The Arts Alliance serves as a regional regranting agency for the minigrant program through a partnership with the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs (MCACA). We administer minigrants to organizations and artists based in Region 9 – Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe and Washtenaw counties. Minigrants are special funding opportunities to address local arts and cultural needs and increase public access to arts and culture. Nonprofit organizations (arts and culture focused or not), public schools, private schools or municipalities may apply for both arts projects minigrants and professional or organizational development (POD) minigrants. Individual artists may apply for professional or organizational development minigrants only.
The Arts Alliance’s Annual Arts & Cultural Guide features a listing for each active Arts Alliance member, while highlighting the breadth and depth of our robust creative community. Over 32,000 copies are published annually and delivered to over 100 public locations and businesses throughout Washtenaw County.
With up-to-date features about trending arts and cultural programs, issues and events, our biweekly newsletter reaches more than 3,400 subscribers. Many community members tell us this is one of their go-to resources for events, calls for art and job postings.

Arts and cultural organization can use the Cultural Data Project’s online management tool to track and gather reliable, longitudinal data on the sector. CDP reports are also required for a growing number of grant opportunities.
